Cuukit Screen Lid  ยท  last updated 2 August 2026

Cuukit Screen Lid collects nothing, sends nothing and stores nothing about you anywhere but your own Mac. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party service of any kind.

No network access

The app makes no network requests at all. It does not check for updates, does not phone home, and has no server behind it. You can confirm this yourself with Little Snitch, lsof -i, or by running it with Wi-Fi off โ€” the behaviour is identical.

What is stored on your Mac

Both live in a single file inside the app's own folder at ~/Library/Application Support/cuukit/. Delete that folder and every trace of Cuukit's settings is gone.

The Accessibility permission

macOS asks for Accessibility the first time you cover the screen. Cuukit uses it for exactly one purpose: to hold on to keyboard and trackpad input while the cover is up, so the cover cannot be dismissed and only the PIN keys get through. Nothing is recorded, logged or transmitted. Input events are dropped, not read.

Children

The app has no content, no accounts and no data collection, so there is nothing for it to gather from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this ever changes, the new policy will be posted on this page with a new date above, and the change will be described rather than quietly swapped in.
